Yackandandah PDC Site Visit 2: Albury

Today the Yackandandah Permaculture Design Course (PDC) students visited Karen Retra’s stunning urban garden as well as the Bungan Community Garden in Albury, North East Victoria.

At Karen’s place which is roughly a 5th of an acre, students learnt about stacking, native bees, maximising space, wicking beds and innovative design; proving that permaculture gardens need not be large scale operations.

Following this we ducked over for a quick visit to the Bungan Community Garden which was brimming with colour and life.

A massive thank you to Karen Retra for showing us your amazing space and to Karen Van Huizen and Susan Hutson for organising the PDC and its site visits.

Here are some photos I took this morning.
